Nintendo Looking to Expand

Nintendo will be opening a brand new Research and Development facility, reports Nikkei.net. A translated report that announced that Nintendo wants to expand in Kyoto. Nintendo bought a piece of land near their Japan headquarters at the end of 2008 for 12.8 billion yen. The land is 40,000 square meters, and will be ussed as a new research and development facility. It will also be used to store software and hardware.

Sega Announces Alien vs. Predator

Blend Games is reporting that Sega has announced they have a new Alien vs. Predator game set to be released in early 2010.

The game is going to be developed by Rebellion, but no word yet on what genre or platform the game will be developed on. You may also remember Rebellion as the developers that made the 1999 Alien vs. Predator shooter. So, yes, there is speculation that it will be a shooter, but there has been no official word yet.

G.I. Joe Video Game: Sequel to the Movie
Paramount Pictures, Hasbro, and Electronic Arts is working in collaboration to put out a successful G.I. Joe video game with the release of the movie.
The publishers and developers are working hard on the game, and get this, the game will be a sequel to the movie.
G.I. Joe the video is in development as we speak. Double Helix is working on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, Playstation 2, and PSP platforms of the game. Where as, Backbone Entertainment is doing the Nintendo DS platform of the game.
“And since our game features an exclusive storyline and picks up where the film leaves off, we weren’t locked into making a ‘play the movie’ game,” said Matt Marsala, senior producer at Electronic Arts.

Godfather II Gets Pushed Back
Godfather II’s February release date has been pushed back. EA announced that Godfather II will now be on shelves April 7th for North America and April 10th for Europe.
Blend Games reports there was no reason give for the push back, and hasn’t been the only game from EA to be pushed back for 2009.
The game will be released on multi-platform and to be specific, Xbox 360, PC, and PS3.
