Due to the persistent delays and reports of designers going “back to the drawing board,” many Clancy fans have grown concerned about the latest Splinter Cell’s development status and if it may soon join the ranks of vaporware right alongside Duke Nukem: Forever. Luckily, these fears have been put to rest, for now, as the team behind Conviction posted a letter of assurance to fans that they have in fact been getting some work done whilst remaining out of the spotlight.
The forum post explains that not only has development been ongoing, but it has been proceeding very well. So well in fact that the author refers to the design of Conviction’s gameplay as having “evolved” since the first glimpse the public received from the trailer back in May of 2007.
“There are lots of rumours flying around right now about Conviction’s development status and we can tell you that the gameplay has evolved, similar to what happens in every game’s development process, and you won’t be disappointed.”
The letter also acknowledges Conviction’s absence at the recent UbiDays event and promises the title will be shown in the “forthcoming months.” In the meantime, we at TheGameReviews.com promise to bring you the latest on Conviction the very next time Sam Fisher rears his now shaggy head.
