Those of you who saw the debut of the Street Fighter IV trailer on CBS Saturday night and just couldn’t wait for more, will be happy to know that the official Street Fighter IV website is alive and kicking and just waiting for your mouse to click on over. In addition to the trailer, the site also features character bios, sketches and making-of content that you would expect to see in a heavily hyped, attention-demanding game.
To further drive the buzz train into the station, GameStop has unveiled the "Art of Street Fighter" book as an incentive for people like you to come on in and plunk down a pre-order for a game that won’t come out for another 8 months. Of course, you’re too smart for that. What’s that you say? You immediately set about pre-ordering the second the trailer wrapped? Oh well, at least you’re getting a good game, and not Chronicles of Narnia or something like that.
The game is scheduled for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 Feb 3, 2009. So in the meantime, go forth and enjoy the new website and continue waiting with baited breath for the big day. Incidentally, the release date is very close to my birthday, so if you’re wondering what to get for that hard to shop for game journalist on your list, well... I have always had an affinity for Street Fighter.
