The Gamerscore Blog has announced a price drop for both versions of hit title Gears of War. Starting June 4, the Xbox 360 version will be priced at $39.99 and the PC version will fall to $29.99.

Also, on June 24, a special edition Gears of War copy will be released on the 360 for $39.99. This two-disc set will contain the original title and a bonus disc, complete with two map packs, a theme, and two Gamerpics for Gears of War; it will also contain a pair of trailers, another theme, and two more Gamerpics for Gears of War 2, which set to release this upcoming holiday season. There’s no sign of the PC-exclusive content in this edition, but it will include 250 additional Achievement points and Annex mode. It’s not six titles in one like Orange Box, but it’s still a pretty amazing deal at $40.
