Sony is Tired of Free Content, So Here Comes Qore
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Jun 3, 2008 11:20

If there are any gamers out there who don’t feel like Xbox Live is a horrible ripoff and would like to give more of their money to a console manufacturer in the form of a monthly subscription, then Sony has a deal for you! The company recently announced "Qore," a new subscription service that promises to offer exclusive news, behind-the-scenes content, demos, betas, "game add-ons," and other downloadable content. Presumably, unlike Xbox Live, this content will only be made available to Qore subscribers, leaving all us cheapskates standing on the other side of the gate merely wishing we could taste the sweet nectar of how the other side lives.

Qore is promising to be a monthly event, with the first show featuring SOCOM: US. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Secret Agent Clank, Soul Caliber IV, and Afro Samuri. In addition, there will also be new Blu-ray trailers, a SOCOM: Confrontation theme, and an invitation to the SOCOM: Confrontation beta.

So as you can see, you are getting quite the bang for your buck, and if every month’s show is as packed as this one, then I may have to swallow my pride and give it a shot. For those interested, Qore costs $2.99 per show or $24.99 for a yearly subscription. Now we just need to wait for Nintendo to launch a pay for content service and we’ll all be sorted.
