Capcom Announces Spyborgs for Wii
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Jun 3, 2008 11:54

If you’re the type of gamer who loves satirical, tongue-in-cheek humor, but owns a Wii and finds the system sorely lacking in that sort of fare, then you’re in luck. Capcom, deciding they just couldn’t wait until E3 to make a product announcement, has unveiled Spyborgs for the Wii at the Captivate 08 conference.
While it’s still early in development, Spyborgs is meant to resemble a Saturday morning cartoon in its presentation. Because this is the Wii and you’re not allowed to make any titles without minigames, Spyborgs will feature "commercial breaks" that will feature Wiimote-waggling and button pressing, presumably to help the heroes eat a balanced breakfast, or keep the Trix Rabbit away from his only vice yet again.

We’re still waiting on gameplay footage or hands-on demos of the title, but in the meantime, Capcom is promising to "provide players with a dynamic and fresh gaming experience like no other." We all know that’s PR spin, but still, if they can deliver a funny, well-designed, enjoyable game for the Wii that caters to more than soccer moms and 8 year-old girls I think we can consider it a smashing success.
