There seems to be an emerging trend in getting popular games to contribute music for free downloads on Rock Band and Guitar Hero. We’ve already seen Portal ("Still Alive") and God of War ("The End Begins (to Rock)") get this specialty treatment, and now the oh-so-popular World of Warcraft is going to take a turn.

As an apparent celebration of the Activision-Blizzard merger, the company has announced that starting June 26th, owners of Guitar Hero 3 will be able to download "I am Murloc" by Blizzard’s own Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain. The song, much like all the others thus far based on games, will be free to download so you can shred to your heart’s content.

So go forth, O lovers of Warcraft and Guitar Hero, and rock in a manner so face-melting that at the end of the song the crowd will be dropping epic loot ripe for the picking. Just be careful not to go aggro and smash your guitar to bits; you might need it for the next song.
