Yesterday, we reported on the non-issue the Grand Theft Auto "Hot Coffee" scandal turned out to be, pointing out that of the millions eligible to collect on the settlement, less than 3,000 have done so. Now, a Connecticut State Senator seems to associate the words "Grand Theft Auto" with moral depravity, and is now seeking to unearth a "rape scene" she heard was in the game.

Sen. Gayle Slossberg admits to have never played the game, but she still believes it is a corrupting influence and is seeking confirmation of a "rape scene" she has heard about only God-knows-where. Slossberg has also hinted that she will be introducing legislation next session for "clearer labeling of depraved video games like Grand Theft Auto."

What we have here is another idiot with a microphone spouting off about a topic on which she has no expertise. You would hope that people would have learned after the Fox News Mass Effect "SeX box" debacle, but apparently that wasn’t enough for this woman. The fact a politician can make such uninformed statements and plan to introduce legislation based on fictional beliefs of game content is just bewildering. And to think, this woman helps shape the legislative agenda for an entire state... simply stunning.
