Denis Dyack Calls Out Too Human Critics

Denis Dyack is not a shy fellow, not in the least. From ranting about the "one-console future" to fiercely defending Too Human, the game that’s been in development longer than some of us have likely been alive, Denis always has something to say and seems to enjoy stirring the pot while saying it.

So in a way, it should be no surprise that Mr. Dyack has issued a verbal smackdown via NeoGAF, calling out all the haters to "stand and be counted." He is calling on all of those who support the game and believe in its success to come out as "For," while those who are skeptical stake their position as "Against." The terms of Dyack’s wager are that if the game comes out and is deemed "crap" by the general public, then he (and presumably all others in the "For" camp) will be tagged on the forums as "Owned by the GAF." However, if the game is a critical and retail darling, then those who stood "Against" will be tagged "Owned by Too Human."

While the whole thing is a bit juvenile, you have to be impressed by the stones on Dyack to make such a call on a forum like NeoGAF. For those unfamiliar, the site is likely the hardest of the hardcore, populated heavily by developers, journalists, and other industry insiders. To face humiliation there is a bit bigger deal than on a random internet forum, as these people aren’t all random strangers, a lot of them are colleagues and peers who definitely won’t let it go if you end up as one of the "owned."

So Denis, on behalf of your sheer boldness and the fact you were even willing to consider a stunt so crazy and patently stupid, I am putting myself in the "For" camp; don’t let me down.
