If you’re a PS3 owner, then by now you’ve probably already downloaded the firmware 2.40 update and are fervently playing through Super Stardust HD in order to rack up your first Trophies. Of course, the most important thing about earning Trophies is showing them off around the interwebs to prove what a cool and accomplished gamer you are, so you need a way to show off your skills.
Our friends over at Playfire, a social networking site built by gamers, for gamers, have come up with the perfect solution. The team has come up with a widget that will allow you to input the Trophies you have earned and show them off in profile pages or sig bars around the net. The service is fairly standard for the Xbox 360 (check out places like MyGamercard.com), but this is the first time we’ve heard of a similar application being made available for the PS3.
The process is pretty simple: just set up a profile at Playfire, select the Trophies you’ve gained from a drop down menu (no cheating and lying about your Trophies!), and then use the embed code to take your new signature around the net. The team is in discussions with Sony to give them direct access to PSN accounts, so all you have to do is type in your PSN ID and they take care of the rest.
Now then, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to download Super Stardust HD and gain a number of legitimate trophies so I can begin showing off my vast gaming superiority. I would suggest you all do the same.
