Wrath of the Lich King Beta Sign-Ups are Live
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Jul 4, 2008 16:44

So there’s a fair chance you’ve heard of the MMO World of Warcraft. There’s likely an even better chance that you know there is an expansion or the game coming out soon. What you may not know is that you can now sign-up to be considered for the game’s beta, available now via the official WoW website. Please note that signing up doesn’t guarantee you a spot, as it would be quite hard to run a beta that supports millions of players.

While I doubt many of you are still reading, seeing as you’ve already clicked through to make an attempt at signing up, for those left, let’s talk about what’s expected in the expansion. One of the biggest inclusions in the add-on is the Death Knight, a new class that will be playable to characters who are level 55 or above of any race. This newcomer uses rune spells to cause all manner of havoc, and can also command an underling to do his bidding.

While the expansion does not yet have a firm release date, current odds have it pegged to ship sometime in the second half of 2008. More specifically, the latest rumors have it dropping in November, just in time for the holiday season. Remember kids, there’s no way to celebrate Festivus like doing it up right with a Death Knight.
