High Moon Wants to Make Bourne Sequel
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Jul 4, 2008 17:28

Developer High Moon was tasked with a rather daunting challenge: creating a game based on Robert Ludlum’s Bourne novels (and subsequent films) which consumers would be interested in years after the movies’ were released. Their solution was The Bourne Conspiracy, a game that retraces the events of the first Bourne film as well as offering some flashbacks to missions Jason went on before he turned rogue. The game was an interesting mix of fighting and shooting, with a bit of driving thrown in, all meant to evoke the feel of the movies.

When asked about the idea of a sequel, lead designer Rory McGuire was just giddy at the concept, but deferred to the game’s reception before making any decisions.

"It hinges on how well it’s received," he said. "There are so many areas where we can expand and take the character of Jason Bourne. So if we’re approached to do a sequel then yeah, you’ll see a lot of those great ideas come to fruition."

So how is the game? For that, you’ll just have to check out our review which should see the light of day tomorrow. What better way to spend your 4th of July holiday than finding out if the new Bourne game is worth $60? I can think of none.
