Rock Band Guitars Work on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith After All
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Jul 5, 2008 19:37

Earlier in the week, we reported that Rock Band guitars were incompatible with the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, thus signaling a potential problem when Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour are launched later this year.

However, after the initial report, all manner of conflicting stories came in, with some people claiming their Rock Band controllers worked just fine on Guitar Hero, while others said that the original conclusion was correct. The whole issue was so convoluted that G4 decided to investigate.

Now, according to their reports, Rock Band guitars will work on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, but only for the Xbox 360. Unfortunately for PS3 owners, the peripherals remain incompatible.

So is this signaling a shift in Activision’s long-held opposition against letting anything other than their own peripherals work? Could it be that maybe we won’t have to buy whole new suites of instruments when the two games release their new versions? Ah... to dream.
