Square Enix Announces E3 Offerings
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Jul 10, 2008 13:47

It’s almost E3 week, and now those last few straggling publishers are releasing their show list, tempting us with the cornucopia of gaming goodness. Today we get word on the Square-Enix dishes, consisting of Chrono Trigger casserole with a lovely Star Ocean special sauce. Sadly though, Final Fantasy XIII flambe is nowhere on the menu.

• Chrono Trigger (DS)
• Dragon Quest: Chapters of the Chosen (DS)
• Final Fantasy IV (DS)
• Exit DS (DS)
• Legend of Kage 2 (DS)
• Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP)
• Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP)
• Infinite Undiscovery (Xbox 360)
• Star Ocean: The Last Hope (Xbox 360)
• The Last Remnant (PS3, Xbox 360)
• Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes (iPod)

So basically RPG fans are going to want to swing by the Square-Enix booth, I may just set up camp and live there for the week. Of course, I will then devolve into madness running around whacking people with a cardboard sword and demanding they join me in my quest to find the opal of infinite knowledge until I eventually face the final boss... LA Convention Center Security. Sadly, no matter how much I level up I can never beat them, I think the game is broken.

Of course, the sad news in all this is that there is no sign of anything for Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, or Kingdom Hearts 3. It may be that the company is just holding back on giving us the big stuff until the show actually starts, but if E3 comes and goes with no news on either franchise, then my poor little heart would likely break into pieces. Do you want that on your head Square-Enix? Do you really want to be the ones to break my heart?
