Portal: Still Alive Confusion Cleared Up
Posted by Nick McCavitt, Jul 21, 2008 14:36

Everyone who is a fan of Valve, Portal, or both have been in a tizzy about what shape the quasi-sequel to Valve’s potent puzzle title will take after it was announced this year. Seeing this bevy of excitement swirling around the game, Valve VP Doug Lombardi chose to have a little sit down with Chris Remo, editor at GameSetWatch, about what shape the game will take.

Portal: Still Alive will be distributed through Xbox Live Marketplace and will also contain several levels that were not available in the PC version of the game. That’s what the game does contain, which is all well and good, but sadly for Portal’s fans, Portal: Still Alive will not contain any of the extra trimmings of plot that were seen in Portal. What does that mean? Well, basically, it means no GlaDOS; her contract was not renewed for this season.

Portal: Still Alive will also feature bonus content, which consists of a number of transposed levels taken from Portal: the Flash Version, a 2D Flash version of Portal that you may have observed shooting by you on the internet at high speed. The game is solely available via Xbox Live Arcade at the moment, but if you’re one of the lucky ones who has a PC version of Portal, all that extra content, and more, is right there just a mouse click away.

Just be sure to watch your landing.
