While PC and Xbox 360 gamers have been able to play Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode 1 since last May, Playstation 3 owners were left out of the loop. This may have been frustrating to PS3 owners eager to join forces with Tycho and Gabe, particularly considering that Playstation Network seems about as well suited to delivering the game as Xbox Live Arcade.
Luckily (and largely unsurprisingly), just as the game eventually found its way to Steam well after its release on Penny Arcade’s proprietary PC download service, Greenhouse, it was only a matter of time until developer Hothead Games set to work porting the game to Sony’s download store in order to serve a larger segment of Penny Arcade’s loyal fanbase. The developer announced yesterday that the game would be available via PSN “late fall 2008” for a price “in line with the game on other platforms,” which currently indicates a price point of about $19.99. That should give you enough time to, you know, hide your fruit. In the meantime, you may want to check out what we had to say about the game as it appeared on PC and Xbox 360.
