Call of Duty 4 is an amazing game: it took a WW2 shooter and brought it into the modern world, with great success, I might add. I’ll admit that when I first saw the next Call of Duty installment, Treyarch’s World at War, I was gravely disappointed, but while I’m still undecided whether or not I’ll be picking up that game, we now know that Call of Duty 6 is expected to be released in 2009, according to Activision-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.
Kotick also added that Activision-Blizzard will continue “leapfrogging” studios, which means it’s pretty safe to say that Infinity Ward will be taking care of Call of Duty 6.
But we also can’t forget one thing: Infinity Ward has an unspecified, “sci-fi” project in the works. Could they be talking about Call of Duty 6 or is it just a brand new IP? Who knows, but I can’t wait to find out. Stay tuned with TGR because there is more to come.
