There was a fitting symmetry that Dead Space, the new survival-horror sci-fi game from EA, was planning on a Halloween release. I mean, what better day to be terrified by necromorphs, tentacle monsters, and hideous beasts than the Devil’s Holiday? Alas, EA has crushed this poetic beauty by changing the game’s release date, but we’ll forgive them because this time it’s going forward instead of backward.
According to EA, Dead Space will now see its release pushed up a week, and will launch on October 24th. The reason why is simply "due to completing the game early." Well, what a refreshingly honest and forthright explanation. I guess that’s all we needed.
Now, instead of playing the game on Halloween, you can play it the week before and then fashion your own Isaac Hayes costume to wear to parties. Just make sure you get all the little details right like the light up health bar on your spine, the holographic menus for selecting weapons and items, and the incredibly deadly mining equipment that can cut through flesh without even the slightest problem. Just make sure not to point it at anyone, or at least not at close friends.
