A conversation took placed between one of our TGR staff and a developer at EA Mythic who said that there would be numerous nude achievements for Warhammer Online. How is this going work exactly?

“We track everything: every sword swing, every hit, how many deaths while nude, how many kills while nude...nude achievements rule!"

So, it’s not being nude that’s the achievement: it’s what you do with your nudeness. After all, anyone can raid an epic dungeon while shielded by plate, chainmail, and iron, but only the truly brave would do so in the buff.

The final icing on this cake, though, was a parting shot delivered by EA Mythic:

“At least you get achievements for being nude, unlike in another mature MMO.”

*cough* Age of Conan *cough*

I hadn’t pictured nude achievements being the next step in gameplay evolution for MMOs, but it seems that this is going to be the case with Warhammer Online. Frankly it disturbs me: a lot of MMO players are tough enough to deal with without them shaking their virtual junk in the trunk at you. I hope this doesn’t lead to a nudity-flavored Cold War in the gaming industry; that would simply be too strange.
