Make Some Great LittleBigPlanet Levels, Get a Job
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Sep 1, 2008 16:36

Have you always wanted to be a developer but lack the formal training and extensive knowledge of magicks that compose most modern consoles and PCs? Well not to worry, as Pete Smith of Media Molecule might consider adding you to his dev team regardless of your complete lack of programming skills.

In a recent interview, Smith mentioned how his company was planning to reward some of the best and brightest users creating content for LittleBigPlanet. While he’s not planning on putting popular levels up for sale, and thereby lining his own pockets, he may be interested in hiring some of those talented unknowns and bringing them into the Media Molecule fold.

"If a user becomes known as being great at making levels, I can’t say we wouldn’t but I don’t think we’d want to take his level and then charge people for it, because it’s free - that’s the whole premise of the game. However, we will be aware of who those awesome designers are and certainly there’s the potential to get them building levels as part of the dev team."
He then added, "I think if we were gonna do that we’d rather get the top ten guys and commission them to make some amazing stuff for us."

LittleBigPlanet, making dreams come true for sackboys, fanboys, and now, ummm... devboys?
