Back at the this year’s Games Convention that took place last month in Leipzig, many people thought that, after German website Heise Online quoted David Reese, Mirror’s Edge would be a timed exclusive for the Playstation 3. Since that mistranslation, EA came out and said that the game was still coming out for PS3 as well as Xbox 360 and PC simultaneously in the fall.
To add to this, Sony has now come out and said that this was a misunderstanding. Speaking to Eurogamer, Sony said:
“There was a misunderstanding in terms of the quote that Mirror’s Edge is to be a timed exclusive on PS3.
"Playstation has an exclusive marketing agreement with EA regarding the title. Exclusive downloadable content will be offered on the Playstation Network.”
No word as of yet on what the DLC would be or if the Xbox 360 and PC version will get their own exclusive content.
In another bit of news regarding Mirror’s Edge, EA has also confirmed the preliminary system requirements needed to run the game on PC. They are as follows:
- OS: Windows XP or Vista
- CPU: Pentium 4 at 2.4 GHz / Athlon 64 2800+
- RAM: 1GB
- Gfx card: GeForce 6 Series with 256MB VRAM or higher, or ATI X1650 (or HD2400)
Not too shabby.
