One of the more pleasant surprises in gaming this year has got to be the new Prince of Persia. Just when we thought we had seen everything the acrobatic warrior could do, Ubisoft has reinvented the franchise with a new art style, new gameplay mechanics, and a genuinely fresh experience from top to bottom. Now, the company is making the game even harder to resist by announcing that anyone who pre-orders the new title will receive an automatic upgrade to the special edition, free of charge.

And what’s in this special edition bundle you ask? Well friend, let me tell you:

In addition to the special edition announcement, Ubisoft has also stated that they have partnered with Penny Arcade to make a 32-page comic book to further flesh out the game’s story. No word yet on when the comic will come out, but we’re expecting to see it this holiday season around the same time as the game’s release.

So, now you have two more reasons to be excited about the Prince of Persia, but honestly, you should have been excited already. This is shaping up to be a beautiful, interesting, fun game that will remind you why this franchise is so enjoyable; while stripping away all the emo garbage that dragged down the Sands of Time trilogy.
