Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Coming to PS2
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Sep 22, 2008 10:47

While Kingdom Hearts has always been known as a PlayStation series, the franchise got a taste of the Nintendo life with the GBA-exclusive Chain of Memories back in 2004. Now, four years later, Square Enix has announced that they will be porting the game over to the PS2, available December 2.

Chain of Memories takes place between the first and second "canon" Kingdom Hearts games and tells a story of Sora, memory loss, and the mysterious Organization. It serves as the direct sequel to the original game, and really needs to be played by anyone hoping to fully understand the full storyline. The title also eschewed the traditional Kingdom Hearts combat in favor of card-style battles, a significant departure for the series.

The PS2 remake is set to feature additional mini-games as well as more voice acting by the original cast, and will debut at the discount price of $29.99. Now I just wish I had a PS3 that was backwards compatible so I could play it...
