GameStop Offering Unique Guitar Hero Pre-Order Incentive
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, Sep 22, 2008 10:49

In a strange marketing move, GameStop is promising that anyone who orders Guitar Hero: World Tour will receive a code which will allow them to instantly unlock all 85 of the game’s songs. That’s right, no more of that pesky "earning it," now you can have all of the benefit with none of the work!

What the company hasn’t said is if each code is unique to each order, or if there is some way for only GameStop customers to access the conent. Ultimately, it seems like a kind of pointless offer since the second someone gets their hands on the code it will be posted online, where all the Internet can have access without the hassle of going through the GameStop pre-order process.

Here’s a fun idea, how bout instead of giving us a worthless code, anyone who pre-orders and then buys the full bundle gets a free guitar like they’re doing in the UK? Wouldn’t you think that would impress a few more people than telling us which combination of green, red, yellow, blue and orange to push to get instant access to "Hot for Teacher?" Why did no one speak up and explain why this was a bad idea?
