Nintendo’s Tokyo press conference from earlier this morning brought some big Wii announcements from Nintendo, including the resurrection of Punch-Out and Gamecube re-releases.
A new Punch-Out! game is in development for the console as well as the sequel to Nintendo 64 title Sin and Punishment titled, unsurprisingly, Sin and Punishment 2. Samurai Warriors 3 has also been announced for the console. Other big announcements include Samurai Warriors 3, Another Code: R, a new Tales of title, and a new line of software called "Let’s Play on Wii", which will bring the likes of Pikmin and other Gamecube titles onto the Wii.
Nintendo showed off titles in a video montage. The montage includes third-party titles such as:
Let’s Tap and 428 (SEGA), Family Ski World Ski and Snowboard and Taiko no Tasujin Wii (Namco/Bandai), Karaoke Joysound (Hudson), Tenchu 4 (From Software), Harvest Moon: Waku Waku Animal March and Rune Factory Frontier (Marvelous), and Shape Boxing Wii de Enjoyment (Rocket Company).
And first party titles from Nintendo:
Another Code: R; Supaan Smasher; Dynamic Shin (working title); Tact of Magic; Cosmic Walker; Sin and Punishment 2; Forever Blue: Beautiful Ocean; NHK Quiz; Line Attack Heroes; Wii Sports Resort.
The long-rumored reboot/remake of Kid Icarus was, yet again, not shown. It’s also worth noting that this was from the Japanese conference, and some titles may be exclusive to that region. Stay tuned for news from the Nintendo of America Press Conference, which is on today.
