2008 Independent Video Games Festival results announced

Today the winners and runners up at this year’s 2008 Independent Video Games Festival were announced at the IVGF’s official website. The Festival recognizes games made by independent designers that would otherwise go unnoticed by the Internet community and are recognized among a variety of categories. Examples of these categories include Best Web Browser Game, Best Innovation Award, Excellence in Visual Art, and Technical Excellence. There was also several nominees in each category that include Iron Dukes by One Ton Ghost for Best Web Browser game, The Path by Tale of Tales which received an award for Excellence in Visual Arts and The World of Goo by 2d Boy, LLC, which received a nomination for  the Seumas McNally Game Of The Year award, the Design Innovation Award, and the award for Technical Excellence

Among the winners this year were Aquaria by Bit Blot which received the sum of $20,000 in prize money by winning the Seumas McNally Game of The Year Award, Bang! Howdy by Three Rings Design which received $2,500 for winning in the Technical Excellence Category and Castle Crashers by The Behemoth which netted $2,500 dollars for winning the Excellence in Visual Art award.
