Super Street Fighter II HDR Awaiting Approval
Posted by Aaron Cooley-Themm, Nov 3, 2008 22:59

Do you miss the days of the classic 2-d fighting games? The good old days when Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter were in their prime. Well if you’re anything like me and want a blast-from-the-past, you’re about to get it.

Christian Svensson, the Coporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development (WOW, that’s a mouth full), told fans in a forum post that we can expect Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix to release on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network this month if they are able to finalize approval from Sony and Microsoft.

There is some potential for delay however, if Sony and Microsoft decide it needs further work. “We’re certainly hoping we don’t miss our date (it could still happen…I did have some concern when Mr. Kramer shared the [target launch date])," said Svennson. “It is possible for us to bounce the submission on one and not the other which would cause the release to potentially not be simultaneous and still be released in November on one of the two."

So far, if you are a fan of the first Street Fighter games, this one does not look like it will disappoint. We will have a hands-on preview of the game very shortly. Make sure to check back for our impressions.
