Alone in the Dark started as a highly-publicized game, but failed to live up to the hype. The Xbox 360 and Wii versions experienced multiple issues, including poor driving mechanics, bad animation, and strange controls, and the game suffered in reviews and public opinion.
It seems as though Atari is aiming to fix the problems that plagued the originals, in the upcoming PlayStation 3 release Alone in the Dark: Inferno, that finally saw a confirmed launch date just a little over a week from now on November 14th, according to Eurogamer.
If you already own a copy for the Xbox 360, don’t rush out to buy the PlayStation 3 version to get the updated experience. We will also soon see a patch to the game for the Xbox 360, which will provide people with same experience they will get on the Playstation 3 version of the game. For all of the people out there that own a copy of the game for the Wii, it unfortunately looks like you won’t get the same benefits. If the changes to the PS3 version make a big enough impact, we might be looking a scramble for the Bargain Bin-bound 360 version of the game.
