If you are currently looking forward to the release of Ubisoft’s Price of Persia, then you are in for a treat in terms of Downloadable Content. Though we are still about two weeks away from the release of the game on December 2nd, in a recent interview with gamersyde.com, producer Ben Mattes explains the company’s plans for DLC and the news has to get fans blood pumping.
In the interview Mattes stated that the game will see significant downloadable content and not just your average run-of-the-mill costume changes or skins. The content made for Prince of Persia will be worth your money and change the game itself, though no specific details came out during the interview. “If we’re going to do it, it’s going to be a new story, a new experience, maybe a prequel, maybe a sequel ,” said Mattes. “We’re going to do something that really offers a lot of value for the player.”
Ubisoft has made no announcement on when we might see the DLC.
The news may surprise some people, but maybe it shouldn’t. Rockstar will be bringing DLC to Grand Theft Auto IV that will also offer new episode, story, and gameplay. Games will likely, instead of targeting a brand new title release, start to launch new episodes, chapters, or quests into their game via DLC instead. This news just makes Prince of Persia an even more attractive title during the busy holiday release season.
It’s great to see quality content being released like this instead of tiny improvements designed to rip a few pennies at a time out of the pockets of gamers.
