Peter Molyneux may need to get his internet fixed after missing his much-hyped announcement by about thirty minutes. Microsoft announced today that Fable II Knothole Island downloadable content pack will be released on Dec. 12.
The Fable II DLC takes place in the titular Knothole Island. The tribe from Knothole Glade discovered the existence of Knothole Island off of their mainland hundreds of years ago. With constant Balverine attacks and bad weather in Knothole Glade, the elders decided to move to Knothole Island, and settle down. The island is in trouble though. It’s once beautiful landscape is now concealed in snow, and it needs a hero to find the mysterious artifacts that control the weather to restore Knothole Island to its former self.
Knothole Island will be full of the requisite new quests, creatures, and items.
There will be 3 quests, which take place in 3 new dungeons. You will be able try on many new outfits including an armoured knight, a barbarian, and many others. There will be 6 new weapons and even more new potions that will alter your appearance. You will also have the option of augmenting your weapons with new augments using a brand new augment tool.
Also on December 12, all Fable II owners will be able to download a free Fable II downloadable pack from the Xbox Live Marketplace, which allows Knothole Island players to be able to play co-op mode with the Fable II expansion. In other words, Knothole Island expansion players will have to download this free pack if they want to play co-op with another player.
If you decide to download both packs, you will receive many items you can use in Fable II such as Knight’s Boots, a weight loss potion, Assassin’s Gloves, and many more. Fable II players will also be able to check how good they really are in 50 plus new leaderboards on Lionhead.com.
Since Fable II’s release on the Xbox 360 on Oct. 21, more than 1.5 million units of Fable II have been sold, which made it the best-selling game in the month of October on any console.
The Knothole Island DLC pack will be available on the release date for 800 Microsoft points ($10).
