Michael Phelps Video Game Revealed
Posted by Heath Hooker, 362 days ago Dec 1, 2008 23:49

In a profile of Michael Phelps on 60 minutes, it was announced that a Michael Phelps video game is being created and worked on, though no other details about the game were revealed.

Michael Phelps, gold medalist swimmer and multiple world record holder, was given a promotional copy of Call of Duty: World at War earlier this year. He has also appeared in a commercial advertising Guitar Hero World Tour. It was then that we got a little suspicious that something like this could happen.

Does Michael Phelps have a deal with Activision?

Does Michael Phelps even like video games?

While the rumors continue to circulate, one thing has become very certain. A Michael Phelps video game is on the way.

The Michael Phelps and Activision connection is leading some people to believe that Activision is handling the Michael Phelps title. Although there are many rumors, there is no official announcement on who is actually publishing the game.

Will Michael Phelps be able to do for swimming what Tony Hawk did for skateboarding? We have our doubts, but the potential is there with a hugely popular worldwide sports celebrity championing unexplored territory in gaming.

Phelps gained international fame when he won eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for his performance in swimming competitions such as the 200 meter fly, 200 meter free, 100 meter fly, and many others. By winning the eight gold medals, Phelps broke Mark Spitz’s record for gold medals in a single Olympic Games. Spitz had a total of seven gold medals. Phelps also broke four world records in only five individual swims.
