With more and more backlash being leveled against multi-platform releases, Capcom has decided to try and give gamers a little extra with the release of Resident Evil 5.

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 5 will ship with exclusive extras for each version of the game (PS3 and 360.)

The bundle for the Xbox 360 is the ’Delux Edition’. The ’Delux Edition’ will be in a metal case and comes with a soundtrack CD, entitled Biohazard 5 Selection Track.

The PlayStation 3 bundle will include a Hollywood produced short documentary on the making-of Resident Evil 5.

The other one you may choose is the Limited Edition version. The Limited Edition version of Resident Evil 5 will be available on both systems, and will come in a collectible box. The limited edition game will come with a 2 gigabyte USB memory drive, a waist pouch, and a 32 page art book. The waist pouch is apparently a replica of one used in Resident Evil 5.

Of all the things to include in the bundle, why did they choose a replica waist pouch? Surely there are many more RE fans out there who would rather have a replica of Barry’s Colt Python .44 Magnum (RE1) or a nice set of replica Wesker shades.

Gamers planning on getting the game for Xbox 360 may end up getting the shaft though since supplies of the 360 bundle are limited, and once those are gone, the only version available will be the barebones version of RE5 with just the game. Since the documentary shipping with the PS3 version is printed straight onto the disk, supplies of that can’t run dry.

Resident Evil 5 will be released on March 13, 2009 for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
