Welcome to the TGR Daily News Roundup. We’re currently busy breaking and developing original, TGR exclusive stories, so to save you time in getting up to speed on today’s happenings, and to save us the effort of having to write tons of pointless, unoriginal stories, here’s a quick digest of the news in gaming:

On February 9, Gamestop will stop accepting old Xbox games for trade-in, according to signs submitted by tipsters and employees who spoke to Joystiq. As if you were getting any money from them anyway, and as if that bargain tray in the middle of the store ever has anything worth playing.

Gamestop wasn’t the only one putting the kibosh on something. Bungie revealed late last week that it will relax its "push to talk" requirements for Halo 3. When the game is updated this month, only Social Big Team players will have to push a button to speak with their teammates. Great news, as it’s awfully hard to start hitting extra buttons during the frenetics of Team Slayer.

On the console war front, Microsoft denied reports that it will be using Playstation Home to conduct virtual meetings. CVG did the right thing after hearing the news from GAAP and called Microsoft for confirmation, to which they replied that "we have everything we need to host a virtual meeting in-house." Microsoft then added, "Oh yeah, and Resistance sucks." (Just kidding.)

Finally -- and not to neglect our game-starved Wii owners -- Capcom announced a firm release date for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. The zombie mall massacre hits shelves February 27.

As for us? We wrote that the Mirror’s Edge demo far outperformed the full version on Xbox Live, and that Gamestop is courting the female demographic. We’ve got more in store at TGR, so tune in tomorrow.
