
Sony Continues to Struggle
The big man at Sony, Howard Stringer, will announce tomorrow that the company plans to cut 2,000 jobs and two television manufacturing plants. Sony plans to have these cuts made by the end of their fiscal year, and there is also talk of a plan to cut bonuses for the managers and executives of the struggling company. We’re just glad that at least one company is punishing the executives and not just the grunts.
News like this usually brings sadness to many gamers, but the rest of the stories cheered us up when the almighty Sony could not.
Monumental Games Makes a Deal with Capcom
If you are a fan of Capcom, you could be a fan of Monumental games very soon. Capcom reached an agreement today with Monumental Games, a UK based video game studio, to do a multi-platform game due out in 2009. Although the game’s genre or title is yet to be revealed, Monumental Games said they are "proud and excited to be working on it.”
Another Assassin’s Creed on the Horizon?
Michael Pachter, Wedbush Morgan Financial Securities analyst, made another bold statement today when he predicted that Ubisoft will release the sequel to Assassin’s Creed before the end of their next fiscal year, falling right in line with TGR’s own Rumor Killer, James Barr, who made a similar observation a couple of weeks ago.
This would mean it would be available to the public before April 2010. Who here hopes he’s right? I do!
