This week the CEO of Telltale Games announced that it will be taking it’s recent successes with Sam and Max and the Strong Bad series of games by beginning work on a new series of games based off on the highly popular Wallace and Gromit short films.
These games, which are slated for release this spring, will follow Telltale’s usual pattern of a monthly schedule which will allow players to take control of both the absent minded inventor Wallace and the clever canine Gromit.
In each game players will take Wallace and Gromit through the establishment of a variety of different businesses in which intriguing and entertaing new inventions can be created and numerous amusing and intriguing characters will make an apperance from episode to episode. In addition to the immersive glimpse players will get into life on West Wallaby Street, the Xbox Originals version of this game will feature a brand new control scheme created especially for the Xbox.
The staff at Telltale promises to keep the games in the spirit of the original Wallace and Gromit shorts as they will be pattering the character designs from the original look made by Aardman Animations during the start of the series. As Dan Conners (Telltale Games CEO) said, the main points of the games will be “story, character, humor, and cinematic presentation” in a way that is very similar to “a television or film production”which will serve to create “a great living room experience through the gaming console”. Mr. Connors also added that the team at Telltale were excited at the chance they had at “expanding our catalog onto Xbox LIVE Arcade."
Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures will be released this spring. For more information on it and Telltale’s other products visit http://www.telltalegames.com.
