Job Listings Confirm New Halo Project
Posted by Jeff Sorensen, 270 days ago Mar 1, 2009 10:34

Well, those who were holding their breath over the new unannounced Halo project can finally let it out.

According to v4vg.com, Microsoft has posted job listings confirming once and for all that they are working on an unannounced Halo title, and that they’re looking to form a whole new team to fill the shoes of the recently-departed Bungie.

Currently, Microsoft is looking for lead designer(s), executive producer(s), lead environment artist(s), technical art director(s), senior concept artist(s), and animation director(s) for their as-yet unannounced Halo game.

From the article: “Since this will be a freshly coined studio at work, the question that remains poised in our minds is whether they shall actually release the next Halo project on the 360, in the view of the … rumors of Gearbox Studios being already hard at work building up an experience that is based on one of the most successful first person shooter franchises which somehow also translates into the world of Halo.”

While it’s still unclear if this new project will fulfill the rumors back in early February when a Microsoft rep supposedly promised “two new IP’s by Q1 2009,” according to the job posts, Microsoft is looking for someone who can “breath a fresh vision into a new Halo experience,” that aims to “drive the future of Halo.”

Interested applicants can contact Andrea Courtie from Microsoft via the “Contact” section of each job post on Gamasutra.
