It’s a rare occasion that a game is pushed up to a nearer release date rather than delayed even further. inFamous, the upcoming PS3 title that looks to be cheating off of Prototype’s test paper (or is it the other way around?) has been pushed up to a May release date. Previously, the game was projected to launch in June. Now, gamers can pick up the game on May 26th, with a demo coming to the PlayStation Network on May 21st.
The game has riled up many a gamer as of late with the hype surrounding its sandbox-styled open world. Cole McGrath, a bike messenger who has inadvertently received electrical, Static Shock-styled powers, is forced to take out three forces who have taken it upon themselves to invade Empire City, McGrath’s hometown. Since its announcement it’s been making waves, and it should be quite interesting to see what the final word will be on the package as a whole, rather than scant screenshots, trailers, and scattershot information.
inFamous will be receiving a special edition option as well, coupled with a fancy book featuring some of the game’s art, a bonus disc, and a code for gamers to download the Gigawatts Blade Power via PSN.
You can check out the official site for more information or to just whet your appetite until the end of next month. We know, it seems like a long wait. Just thank your lucky stars the date has been changed!
