Wii Sports Resort and MotionPlus Hitting America This Summer
Posted by Brittany Vincent, 225 days ago Apr 14, 2009 17:03

Hope you’re ready for a boatload of arm-waving. Nintendo has confirmed that Wii Sports Resort and MotionPlus will be arriving Stateside on a real, concrete date! Are you excited?

The MotionPlus accessory (you know, the device that we all hope will improve Wii titles?) will be waggling its way into stores on June 8th, for $19.99. Because you can’t have your cake and eat it too, Wii Sports Resort will be trialing the peripheral with a July 26th release. That’s at least two more months we’ll have to wait before Mom and Dad AND Grandma will play some more Wii sports titles. Darn!

Cammie Dunaway is her usual bubbly self, touting the MotionPlus and how awesomely awesome it will be. It even has incredible precision, you guys:

"Wii MotionPlus represents a new evolution in video game control. The variety of fun games in Wii Sports Resort show off its incredible precision. Developers around the world are busy working on new ways to incorporate Wii MotionPlus controls into inventive experiences for consumers."

With that kind of marketing, how can you go wrong? Now, if you’re looking to get the most out of your Wii-mote experience, you can expect to pay $40 for the actual Wii remote, $20 for a Nunchuk add-on, and then $20 more for the Wii MotionPlus! After all this nickel-and-diming, you can expect to pay $80 for a decked-out Wii remote. For that price, you could just stock up on shovelware! Guess you should start getting your priorities straight.

In any case, get geared up for the Summer of Wii!
