Assassin’s Creed, the first title, was beloved by many and hated by others. It was a love/hate relationship that the title had with gamers, but now Ubisoft is releasing Assassin’s Creed 2. Does it even have a prayer of uniting gamers behind it’s banner?
Well, we don’t know yet, and we don’t know much of any information on the rest of the game. There is one thing we do know that, and that is the platforms it will be released for. There have been some rumors that the game will be exclusive to a certain platform, but Ubisoft put that to rest today as they announced that Assassin’s Creed 2 will be available on all current-gen platforms.
Assassin’s Creed 2 follows the story of a young man by the name of Ezio who has been deceived by some of the families in Italy. It is supposedly being developed by the team that was behind the first title, and is scheduled for a late 2009 release. Ubisoft did not say specific platforms, but instead just said it would be released for all current-gen platforms. All current generation platforms is a little vague but for now, gamers should probably be looking for it on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and maybe Wii.
The original game was based around the character Altair and followed him throughout the game. Altair seemed to interest gamers, and Assassin’s Creed sold over two and a half million units and was a huge game for 360 as well as PS3.
