Treyarch and Activision are bringing more multiplayer goodness to Call of Duty: World at War with a new map pack that will arrive on Xbox LIVE and PSN sometime in June. According to the official Call of Duty website, the new batch of maps will include three multiplayer matches, a new zombie mode map, and several other features that will keep gamers content throughout the summer.
"Banzai" will allow gamers to wage war in jungles and caves, "Corrosion" will take place in a train yard, and "Sub Pens" features a shelled out submarine base in the middle of a monsoon. The new zombie mode map, "Shi No Numa" (Swamp of Death -or Zombie Swamp) exchanges the normal horde of Nazi zombies for an army of undead Imperial Japanese soldiers.
In addition to all that, Treyarch is also promising Perk Machines, new achievements/trophies, the new Wunderwaffe DG-2, and Flaming Hell Hounds.
A price has yet to be announced for the new map pack, but considering that the last one sold more than a million times through XBL and PSN in its first week, its reasonable to expect that its price tag of $9.99 remains intact.
Right now, it is only confirmed that the map pack is coming to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. No official announcement about a PC version has been made yet. The last map pack was released in March for home consoles, but PC gamers received the map pack for free a month later as a part of patch 1.4.
