Capcom Reveals Top Franchises
Posted by Heath Hooker, 201 days ago May 9, 2009 02:18

Capcom has had tons of huge hits in the video game industry over the years with the likes of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Mega Man, and many others. After all these years, the company has decided to release the top selling Capcom franchises and games, and Resident Evil has topped the list with a totally of 40 million units sold. As you know, Resident Evil has had a ton of games starting with the first on the PlayStation system and spanning through many consoles since. This seems to have paid off for the popular franchise, but what other franchises topped the lists.

Now, some of you are probably crying that Mega Man couldn’t top the list but it did come in second. Mega Man was even a close second at 28 million units with the Street Fighter series coming in right behind the popular machine/man with 27 million units. Other notable series from Capcom that were high on the list are Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter, and Onimusha.

Capcom didn’t stop there either. The company also released its top games that have sole one million or more units. The heavy hitters on this list won’t surprise you either. The Street Fighter and Resident Evil series topped the list with Street Fighter II for the Super Nintendo in first place with 6.3 million sold, and Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 5 with 4.96 and 4.4 million units sold respectively. The list pretty much consists of Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter games, and just a random few others.
