Ubisoft released information today confirming that the development of Fry Cry 2 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is currently underway. The game, which is being developed by Ubisoft’s Montreal development studio, promises a brand new experience which will feature an in-game engine that will be custom made just for Far Cry 2. The new title will also allow players to experience gameplay that will provide players of Far Cry 2 with a new level of in-game freedom while exploring what Ubisoft promises will be environments that have been carefully modeled to resemble real world Africa. Far Cry 2 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles is due to be shipped to retail at some point during the 2008-2009 fiscal year. In addition the March issue of Playstation: The Official Magazine will be the cover story that will be found on newstands all across North America on February 12, 2008.
