Although many 360 gamers were probably praying for this one to be true, it seems that Crysis will not be making its way to the 360 anytime soon. TGR contacted a spokesperson for Electronic Arts in the licensed games division who said there were currently no plans for an Xbox 360 version of Crysis. Earlier, a rumor concerning a possible 360 version was sparked when an Australian retailer had the PC melting shooter listed for the 360 as an, “uncut edition,” to be released on November 20, 2008.
Crytek, has been quoted in the past saying that the game would not even be able to run on the Xbox 360 or PS3. They explained that in order to really run the game at acceptable capacity, Direct X 10 is required. Now although Crysis itself may not be heading to consoles, don’t rule out the possibility of a special console version bearing the Crysis name, like what happened with the Xbox version of Far Cry, Far Cry: Instincts.
