Gamecock Media Group announced today the second annual Expo For Interactive Entertainment, Independent and Original (E.I.E.I.O.) which will feature a showcase of independent videogames and music. The event will allow the press and gamers themselves to get up close with several games and the individuals behind them, as well as offer first looks at previously unannounced content and projects. Some of the developers that will be in attendance include: Wideload, Red Fly Studio, Spark Unlimited, Replay Studios, Firefly Studios, and TimeGate Studios, and more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Mike Wilson, Grand Champeen of Gamecock explained the team’s philosophy behind the event, saying "while we have enjoyed providing an entertaining respite for the industry during the painful California-based trade shows of years past, it has always been our dream to show people how we really do it down in Texas.” Wilson further exclaimed the Gamecock’s mission to revive the independent games business and that they are proud to offer the public a look at the original content that their line-up of independent developers has to offer. E.I.E.I.O. 2008 will take place on March 6, 2008 at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas. The event will run throughout the day, and conclude in the evening with a music concert that the public will have access to from tickets issued prior to the event.
