The first day of the inaugural event has come and now passed. General attendance was pretty light and the news crews were there in full force. I spotted a few people rfom IGN, GameSpot, JoyStiq and some other outlets.
Most exhibitors had a feeling that Saturday and Sunday will be the days that have the highest atendance as kids will be off of school and adults can travel for the weekend off of work. But, I have seen this in many industries before, first day is lame then it really picks up and poeple have fun. Truly, if there were alot more people then the lines for the games would be really bad. At least you could actually get a chance of playing a game.
Today the show opened at 11 AM for pre-registed atendees, who paid $90. The remaining tickets are $50 for Thursday and Friday, $75 for Saturday and Sunday.
One resounding comment I have heard is that this event is not so much a media circus as previous E3 events. The exhibitors are excited to talk to the gamers and not just media.
