Rockstar has officially announced that the release date for GTA IV will be on April 29, 2008. Originally scheduled to ship in October 2007, the game was pushed back to 2008 and fans of the series were left guessing. The announcement has coincidentally come with a large amount of previews being published all over the net, as Rockstar has been showing the game around. So far, journalists have said they were impressed with what they saw and that the game did seem much more polished than when they last viewed it, so it looks like GTA IV will have no trouble hitting shelves on April 29.

Executive Producer Sam Houser expressed his own confidence in the game saying, "We are so excited to be releasing Grand Theft Auto IV. We’ve pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment."
