In a truly bizarre occurrence, Jack Thompson has actually come to the defense of Mass Effect over the recent sexual scandal made famous on the Fox News network. Thompson was interviewed by Kotaku.com and when asked why he had not addressed the controversy, as many would expect him to do, he asked Kotaku why he should really care about the matter. Jack addressed Cooper Lawrence, the author whom recently appeared on Fox News attacking the game saying, “The guy who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about.” He further commented on the matter saying, “This contrived controversy is absolutely ridiculous.”

Don’t let this little anomaly in the videogame industry critic’s behavior lead you to believe that Thompson has come over to the good side, as he is still continuing his crusade in a recent press release entitled “Grand Theft Auto IV to Be Released April 29; Culture War Begins Now." Maybe Jack is just mad that someone else beat him to it.
