New information about Supreme Ruler 2020 announced.
Posted by Nick24444, Feb 4, 2008 09:13

Paradox Interactive and BattleGoat Studios today announced information regarding the in-game features of it’s worldwide political strategy title Supreme Ruler 2020 which is currently in development. Included in the game will be the Super Sandbox feature which, when used, gives players ultimate in-game freedom by letting them exert their influence over whatever country or territory they like. The game, when released, will come bundled with three different gameplay modes for the Super Sandbox.

1.Modern World-It’s the world set in the time of next Sunday, A.D. Players have the option of taking the role as the United States and make your way along as global power broker, or climb your way to the top by playing the game as a less influential country, or make your own selection from amongst 180 different territories on the map.
2.Shattered World-The lamp of Earth has fallen off the bedside table of destiny: all the major countries have collapsed and the minor powers are fighting amongst themselves to see who ends up on top. Players have the option here of being an American state, a Canadian province, or a territory in Europe, Russia, or China.
3.Hot Spots-A sort of challenge mode where players have to deal with the problems of the more chaotic areas of the planet such as Kashmir, Palestine, Tibet, Kurdistan, Kosovo, Western China, and others.

In addition Supreme Ruler 2020 will sport an economic and geo-political recreation of the planet Earth unrivaled in any other game like it. There will also be a military mode which gives players the ability to express their strategic thinking in campaigns organized at the battalion level and during which players can focus in on a particular city or even bring the camera back to show the whole world. Armies can be set loose on a tiny corner of the world or brought to bear on whole continents and oceans in ready to play missions or leap into the Super Sandbox and shape the world however you like it with a wide array of customization and modding tools to create new possibilities in the world

Supreme Ruler 2020 will be released in May 2008.
