Apparently, the news that Devil May Cry 4 will run at 640p on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 - and that Capcom Europe issued an official statement concerning its support on DX9 and DX10 OC versions with higher resolution - turned out to be inaccurate, and the story, suspected to actually be fake. While there is no way to determine confirmation of DMC4 being full 1080p, rather 720p with 2x AA or 640p with 2x AA, no one will know until the pixel count is done.
Few gamers seem to notice or care about the game’s demo resolution, as long as it is sufficient in the final release. Most gamers report that after downloading the PS3 demo, it looked spectacular in HD. Few are concerned whether or not it is ’’true’’ 1080p, just that it performs as it should and the controls are solid.
Others don’t understand why Capcom didn’t simply make one version of Devil May Cry 4 for Xbox 360 and one for PS3. While some may consider the demo resolution a bit disappointing, playablity is what is key to all concerned. One gamer pointed out that when the fankid googles are removed, the game plays well, looks great, and concluded that only fankids really care about resolution, "because the average gamer won’t notice."
One gamer surmises that had the game remained exclusive, the minimum resolution it would have had would have been 720p. Regardless, none of the buzz ever really stopped anyone from playing a quality game, which, according to most polled so far, is precisely what Devil May Cry 4 has surfaced so far to be.
