The Gamecock Media Group, in cooperation with Spark Unlimited, announced that the first person shooter title Legendary will be made free to roam about store shells this summer. Legendary, which has been developed by Spark Unlimited, will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC and will take players into a world, which has been turned topsy turvey by the addition of beasts that previously only existed in the pages of legend.
The core of Legendary revolves around one Charles Deckard, a professional art thief, who takes a contract that he should’ve thought better of... stealing Pandora’s Box. Much like the lady whose name has become associated with it, Deckard opens the legendary (and infamous) container, causing droves of mythical beasts: werewolves, griffins, and the like, to leap from it into our world. A war of massive proportions follows, as the human rises up against these mythical beasts, who are in turn being aided by hidden societies, who possess much power and influence. Deckard finds himself the only one being able to shut the box and rescue the world.
Rick Stults, the Console Chief for Gamecock Media Group, offered the comment that he was “happy to report that the team on Legendary is well on target for a simultaneous multi-platform launch this summer.” Mr. Stults also commended the development team Spark Unlimited for their work on the project, when he stated that it was “no easy feat to pull this off on a game of this caliber, but Spark Unlimited is a talented group."
Furthermore, the CEO of Spark Unlimited, Craig Allen, expressed his firm’s pride in the Legendary title saying that “This is the project we want to be working on and it’s shaping up to be something amazing.” He also went on to add that “Legendary is the type of game we want every gamer, regardless of system allegiance, to get the chance to play. We’re taking our time to ensure optimum performance, regardless of platform."
